The Mellots have been a force in winemaking in the Loire Valley since 1513; today, Joseph Mellot is the only estate that owns vineyards in all the appellations of the region. Producing fine wines from Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, Coteaux du Giennois, Menetou Salon, Quincy, Reuilly and Chateaumeillant, Domain Joseph Mellot is an ambassador for the wines of the Central Loire Valley. Under the leadership of Catherine Corbeau Mellot, the estate is now committed to sustainable development, using sustainable agricultural methods to tend its vines. This Sancerre from the 55-acre La Chatellerie vineyard is crisply textured, full of citrus fruit with a herbal, mineral edge, lively acidity, and a clearly defined sense of structure.
